World Cup Data Governance

How many of you are taking a break during the working day to catch a World Cup match or two? I've written a piece with an idea about effective data management for each competing country.

As I developed these ideas, I found that many of them were not data-specific, but can be applied to people development, team building and project success. That makes sense, because data activities are part of an organisation, just like managing the product or service, sales, IT or risk and compliance.

Read the article and then vote for your favourite. Today (Wednesday 22nd) is Group C, and I'll link to the subsequent days in the comments.

Last week, we had a session with Neil Burge about The Human Side of Data Governance - how you actually get people engaged. Check out the attached write up.

If you enjoyed it, I'd be grateful if you could support me by:

Our next session is online at 1230 GMT on Wednesday, 7 December and is about Procurement, with expert Daniel Abda, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, and designer of the Procurement Organisation for the London 2012 Olympics.

It will be great for anyone that's interested in finding and bringing in a new tool or solution to their business. We'll be talking about

  • How you can go about finding the right solution for your organisation

  • If you have a procurement team in house, how to work with them effectively to avoid nasty surprises

  • If you don't have your own procurement experts, what you should think about when talking to potential suppliers

Have a wonderful week,

Charles
